NC State Falls 4 Spots in the Week 2 Coaches Poll…Make it Make Sense

After going 2-0 to start the 2025-26 Men’s Basketball season this past week, NC State fell 4 spots in the Week 2 Coaches Poll.

Make it make sense.

The Wolfpack defeated North Carolina Central by 48 points, and UAB by 24. In each game they covered the spread.

Vanderbilt defeated Lipscomb 105-61, and UCF 105-93, which must have blown the coaches minds, moving the Commodores up 6 spots.

Oregon is ranked 27th, and they beat Hawaii by 1, and Rice by 4. They were 11.5-point favorites over the Rainbow Warriors and 15.5-point favorites over the Owls. The Ducks were ranked 26th in the Preseason Poll..

Baylor is ranked 28th, and they didn’t cover the spread against UT Rio Grande. Nonetheless, the Coaches moved them up 2 spots this week.

A few questions for all of the coaches who vote in the poll. Do you watch the games? Do you even look at margin of victory? Do you look statistical efficiency rankings?
