NC State defeated VCU 85-79 last night, improving to 4-0 on the year. Where does the Wolfpack rank according to the Stat Gurus before tipoff?

Evan Miya

NC State fell three spots in Evan Miya’s Team Net Relative Ranking, landing at #20. They also fell two spots in Team Offensive Efficiency Rating (15th) and in Team Defensive Efficiency Rating (35th).

KenPom

NC State fell two spots in KenPom’s rankings after the win over the Rams, landing at #22 in his Adjusted Efficiency Margin. The Wolfpack moved up 1 spot Offensive Rating (15th), and dropped 7 spots in Defensive Rating (37th).

NC State currently ranks 3rd nationally in Effective Field Goal Percentage (dropped 1 spot), 77th in Offensive Turnover Percentage (dropped 59 spots), 12th in 2-Point Field Goal Percentage (dropped 11 spots), 17th in 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (stayed the same) and 60th in Offensive Block Percentage (dropped 19 spots). Defensively, they rank 91st in Turnover Percentage (dropped 41 spots), 86th in Effective Field Goal Percentage (dropped 26 spots) and 100th in Steal Percentage (dropped 63 spots).

I didn’t report on the following statistics yesterday, so I can’t report how much they went up or down, but nonetheless. The Wolfpack ranks 60th in Offensive Rebound Percentage and 83rd in Offensive Free Throw Rate. NC State ranks 94th in Opponent Offensive Rebounding Percentage and 266th in Opponent Free Throw Rate. The Pack has to chill out with the fouls.

Bart Torvik

The Wolfpack stayed put in Bart Torvik’s Power Ratings (35th). NC State actually improved in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency Rating, moving up 2 spots to #9. The Pack fell 2 spots in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency Rating, landing at #76.
