Evan Daniels of FoxSports revealed who he thought the Top 10 impact freshman will be in the NCAA this season, and it’s not a shocker at this point, but NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr. was on the list.

Dennis Smith, PG, NC State
Due to tearing his left ACL in August of 2015 at adidas Nations, Dennis Smith sat out his entire senior season and enrolled at NC State this past December. If he had played he could have finished much higher than his No. 10 ranking. Smith returned to adidas Nations exactly a year later and NBA scouts were buzzing about his game. Smith will step right in for Cat Barber at NC State, and the transition should be seamless. Smith has remarkable athleticism and a very quick first step. Look for Smith and the Pack to play fast, which plays right into Smith’s strengths. (FoxSports)

Andy Katz of ESPN also weighed in yesterday & said that Smith should be in the All-American conversation and be the best point guard in the ACC.

NC State freshman guard Dennis Smith will be a part of the All-American discussion
Smith is a special talent. A year ago, he tore his ACL, limiting the buzz that might follow him from high school to NC State. He’s healthy now, and Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried has a star, a player who should be the best point guard in the ACC, and as a result, one of the best in the country. (ESPN)
