Florida St. has always been a hard place to win a football game.

NC State and Florida St. have had a lot of memorable games over the years, but the Wolfpack have only managed to win 4 of their 15 games against the Seminoles down in Tallahassee (NC State is 7-10 against FSU at home).

NC State picked up their 1st win down in Tallahassee in 1957 when the Wolfpack defeated the Seminoles in a low-scoring 7-0 game. The Wolfpack entered the game ranked 13th nationally, and All-American Running Back Dick Christy caught a 46-yard touchdown pass, and even kicked the extra point.

In 1967 Florida St. finished the season ranked 15th, and NC State finished 17th, despite the fact that they beat them in their place 20-10.

Thirty-four years later the Wolfpack picked up their 3rd road down in Seminole territory, with Quarterback Philip Rivers leading NC State to a 34-28 victory. Rivers completed 26 of his 33 pass attempts with 2 touchdowns, and Running Back Ray Robinson ran for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Florida St. was ranked 10th at the time, and NC State dealt them their first ACC lost at home, after winning their first 39 ACC games on their own field.

The last time NC State beat Florida St. on the road was back in 2005, when Wolfpack Running Back Andre Brown’s 179 rushing yards, propelled them to a 20-15 victory. NC State also picked off the #9 Seminoles 3 times in the contest.

The Wolfpack look to go down to the home of the Tomahawk chant today and pick up their 5th win in Doak Campbell Stadium.
