5 Star SG Keldon Johnson Breaks Down His Top 5

Published

on

5-star 2018 shooting guard Keldon Johnson has narrowed his list down to 4 schools, but broke down his top 5 schools for Rivals Corey Evans recently. Here’s what he had to say about each school.

Florida State: “They are just telling me that they can get me to the league and that I can be their main guy right away. If my schedule allows for it, I do want to visit Florida State.”

NC State: “They think that I can come in right away and help their program drastically but also put a lot of pieces around me.”

Texas: “I have a great relationship with coach (Shaka) Smart and coach (Mike) Morrell, which goes a long way. They think I can come in and have the chance to start right away; they can help me get to where I want to go.”

Kentucky: “They are very honest and very straightforward. They are telling me what I have to do to get better and to get to the next level. They are just telling me to keep working and to just do what I do; to play to my strengths and work on my weaknesses.”

Maryland: “Great program and great history. They have awesome coaches and awesome players. The visit was amazing. It was definitely something that stood out to me especially being there with a few of their other guys.” (Rivals)

Johnson also told Evans that as of now he wants to sign early (by the November signing date).

Published

2024 4-Star Shooting Guard Paul McNeil (6’6″/185) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State next weekend.

ESPN ranks McNeil as the #17 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class, and the #2 player in the state of North Carolina. I don’t understand how recruiting databases work, but at some point this year he will be a 5-star player according to ESPN as long as he stays in the Top-25.

McNeil plays for Richmond Senior in Rockingham, North Carolina.

This is huge for NC State to get a player of McNeil’s caliber to come in for an Official Visit this early in the process.
