RALEIGH, N.C. – The 10th-ranked NC State baseball team scored 13 runs in its final two at-bats to surge past the visiting Air Force Falcons for a 15-5 win Monday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack scored eight runs in the seventh and five runs in the eighth to claim the victory.

Now in his 22nd season with the Wolfpack, head coach Elliott Avent earned his 799th win in charge of the program and will go for 800 on Friday against Bowling Green. The skipper has logged 1,023 career victories.
Avent’s Additions
Overall thoughts…
“A lot of guys are stepping up and as a I told the team in the locker room, if guys are stepping up that weren’t starters when the season began then they’re able to do that because of the confidence that their teammates have in them and how they’ve taught them,” said Avent. “I think we have a lot of guys doing a lot of things well and I’m proud of the team.
“To continue to come back in games has been impressive. I thought Air Force really came to play today. They played 16 innings yesterday, they were in Hawai’i last week and I thought they showed a lot of character today, which is what the Air Force is about. We played well today because they played awfully well and I’m really proud of our guys.”
