QB with Sub 50% Completion Rate Thinks Miami Offense is Unstoppable

I’m honestly not one for the whole bulletin board material situation. Plenty of college students, and pros for that matter, say a lot of dumb things with a microphone in front of them.

But Miami’s Tyler Van Dyke just went out a little too far.

In a visit with the media (first heard by us from Red & White podcast), Van Dyke stated (Full press here, skip to 3:12),

“NC State has a great defense, what are they like top something in the country, top whatever…but that doesn’t matter. Still the same guys we played last year and put up 44 points on them. They have different type of wrinkles on defense, but we feel really confident…that can’t really stop us.”

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boooooooooyyyyyyyyyyyy

Reminder that Van Dyke has played in only six games and started half. None of which was NC State last year. If you take away his one win against subdivision Central Connecticut State, he’s 0-2 with two touchdowns, three INTs and a 47% completion percentage. Ouch.

When asked, Head Coach Manny Diaz stated that while Van Dyke’s gaining confidence, he still has a lot of work to do. Understatement of the year.

I’ll keep this short…

  • State defense needs INTs and sacks come Saturday night
  • I need a Van Dyke’s normally dead, pale face to be bright red in postgame, taking a few questions on why he poked the Pack
  • This needs to be Manny Diaz’s last game as the Miami Head Coach

Hopefully Drake Thomas has some fun…

Let’s destroy the Hurricanes. #GoPack

He’s committed himself. Either hero or dog meat.
