First off, if you missed it, go read my piece from last week about which PGs I thought NC State should target in the transfer portal.

One of the guys I mentioned was Jarkel Joiner. The only problem, Joiner hadn’t entered the portal just yet.

Today, that changed.

Joyner (6’1, 180lbs) will be a 5th year senior next season. He led Ole Miss in scoring with 13 PPG and averaged 2,1 assists per game (which would have been good for 2nd on team for NC State). He can handle, pass, score, he absorbs contact well and he shot 34% from 3 last year. He’s one of the better PGs in the entire portal at this point.

He also is leaving Ole Miss, which is where new NC State assistant coach Levi Watkins is coming from.

So was this just a lucky guess, or did I know something? Did I write that entire piece last week in order to hint at Joiner entering the portal and potentially landing at NC State?

I’ll leave that up to you, but if I were you I’d watch this one closely. Oh and while we’re at it, I’d keep a close eye on Ole Miss SF Luis Rodriguez and Memphis Transfer Landers Nolley too.

Can we maybe get a post about Cunane and Jones being selected in the WNBA draft two days ago?? I understand you also need to cover recruiting news because of how important it will be to our men’s team next year, but our women’s team did amazing things and these two women deserve some recognition right now.
