Purdue 4-Star OT Commit Takhyian Whitset is Taking an Official Visit to NC State this Weekend

Published

on

NC State will be hosting 4-Star 2025 Offensive Tackle Takhyian Whitset (6’5″/295) on an Official Visit this weekend. Whitset is verbally committed to Purdue, committing to the Boilemakers on April 30th earlier this year.

Whitset had previously told me that he was taking his Official Visit last weekend, but he confirmed with me that he moved it to this weekend.

He also holds offers from Purdue, Liberty, Vanderbilt, Marshall, UAB, Toledo, Ball State, Marshall, ECU, Western Kentucky and Arkansas State.

Whitset plays for Antioch in Nashville, Tennessee. ON3 ranks him as the #236 overall player nationally, the #20 Offensive Tackle nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, and the #8 player in the state of Tennessee.

Matthew is Publisher and Co-Owner of Pack Insider. He is also the Lead Pastor of The Point Church in Cary, NC.

This may be a step in the right direction. Don’t recruit anyone outside the top 300 players.

NC State WR Commit Jamar Browder Visited Michigan this Weekend

Published

on

3-Star 2025 Wide Receiver Jamar Browder (6’4″/205) verbally committed to NC State on June 9th, but he took an unofficial visit to Michigan this weekend.

Browder picked up an offer from the Wolverines last Tuesday, and quickly planned a trip to head up to Michigan to watch them play Minnesota. He witnessed the Wolverines defeat Minnesota 27-24.

Browder already plans to take an Official Visit to Michigan in November.

To be quite frank, this isn’t looking good for NC State. The Wolfpack already lost a commitment from 3-Star Defensive Lineman Makhi Williams-Lee last week, who picked up an offer from Clemson, and attended the Tigers’ game this past Saturday.

4-Star 2025 Cornerback Jontae Gilbert (6’1″/180) verbally committed to Georgia back on August 10th, but that hasn’t stopped NC State from continuing to recruit the elite prospect.

Prior to committing to run with the Bulldogs, Gilbert included NC State in his Top-5 along with Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville and UCF.

Gilbert took an Official Visit to NC State back in June.
