Some football players have a knack for getting into the end zone. It’s almost as if there is something magnetic between them and the goal line.

NC State running back Matt Dayes and tight end Jaylen Samuels are two such players. Dayes (Senior) has 32 career touchdowns, which ties him with Ray Robinson for 5th place in NC State history. Samuels (Junior) has 24 career touchdowns, moving him into a tie with Andre Brown and Gary Downs for 8th all-time.

It’s rare to have two players like this on the same team.

Matt Dayes and Jaylen Samuels are the 5th most prolific scoring duo in NC State history, and we have 3/4 of the season left.

Throughout his career, Dayes has averaged .91 touchdowns per game, and Samuels has averaged .89. If these two were to keep up their career pace, they would finish their stint playing together with 72 touchdowns as a duo, making them the top scoring duo in Wolfpack history.
