Former NC State Pitcher Sam Highfill has signed an Undrafted Free Agent Deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, after going undrafted last week.

NC State RHP Sam Highfill agreed to sign an undrafted free agent deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, per source.

The Third Team All-ACC selection pitched a team-high 87 innings with 82 strikeouts in his final collegiate season.

Highfill earned 3rd Team All-ACC honors this season, going 7-2 with a 4.97 ERA. He had 82 strikeouts in 87 innings pitched, and held opponents to a .226 batting average.

Highfill finished his career on fire in the NCAA Tournament, with 3 consecutive Quality Starts. His ERA in the Tourney was 2.84, holding opponents to a .209 batting average.
