NC State’s Debbie Yow Responds to FBI Report

UPDATE: Yahoo has issued an apology for saying they reached out to NC State and has edited their article. See below. 

This morning documents from the FBI’s investigation on college basketball were released by Yahoo, and it revealed that former NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr allegedly took money from an agent.

Earlier this week head coach Kevin Keatts said that he had no knowledge of NC State being involved in the FBI’s ongoing investigation.

Just now NC State Athletic Director Debbie Yow released a statement in agreement with Keatts words.

Yahoo claims that they reached out to NC State for comment, but NC State Senior Associate Athletic Director says that’s simply not true.

One additional item to clarify in Yahoo report … no one from Yahoo reached out to NC State for comment despite their reporting otherwise. It’s unfortunate and disappointing to see us listed as not responding or declining comment when that was simply not the case.

Yahoo has since then apologized and fixed their error.
