NC State Still in Director’s Cup Top-5 Despite Not Having a Hockey Team

Published

on

The updated Director’s Cup standings are out after the finish of the college hockey season, and NC State still remains in the Top-5, ranked 5th (they were 4th prior to this), despite not having a hockey team.

The Wolfpack are still poised to finish strong in the Director’s Cup standings as the sports year continues.

The Women’s Gymnastics team just entered the NCAA Championships ranked 20th nationally, and earned its highest NCAA Regional score in program history.

The Men’s Tennis team currently ranks in the Top-25 nationally.

Finally, maybe you’ve noticed that the Wolfpack baseball team currently ranks 2nd in the nation.

No big deal.

Heading into the 2024 season, Nixon had a chance to battle for a starting spot, after starting in 18 of the 32 games he played in as a Sophomore. In 2023, Nixon hit .319, with an OBP of .402, and an OPS of .916. The way things panned out, Josh Hogue, Eli Serrano III & Noah Soles nabbed the starting jobs. Even when Hogue went down, Chase’s younger brother Luke was moved from the infield to the outfield.

Unfortunately, the Nixon boys won’t be on the same team for a second year.

Nixon has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
