NC State may have lost to Syracuse on Saturday night, but that didn’t stop Junior Kelvin Harmon from having one of the best games in school history by a wide receiver. Harmon finished the night with 11 receptions (Career High) for 247 yards (Career High) and 2 touchdowns (Tied Career High).
His 11 receptions tied for the 6th most in a single game by a Wolfpack player.
1) Jaylen Samuels – 15
1) Torry Holt – 15
3) Jakobi Meyers – 14
4) Jerricho Cotchery – 13
5) Torry Holt – 12
5) Jerricho Cotchery – 12
7) Kelvin Harmon – 11 (been done 7 other times in school history)
The 247 yards were the 2nd most in school history, marking only the 6th time a Wolfpack player crossed the 200-yard mark.
1) Torry Holt – 255
2) Kelvin Harmon – 247
3) Torry Holt – 225
4) Tobais Palmer – 219
5) Eddie Goines – 207
6) Donald Bowens – 202
After Saturday’s outburst, Harmon passed Nasrallah Worthen, moving into 5th place in NC State history in career receiving yards.
1) Torry Holt – 3,379
2) Jerricho Cotchery – 3,119
3) Owen Spencer – 2,441
4) Eddie Goines – 2,351
5) Kelvin Harmon – 2,273
Harmon also moved into 5th place all-time in school history in career receptions on Saturday.
1) Jaylen Samuels – 202
2) Jerricho Cotchery – 200
3) Torry Holt – 191
4) Eddie Goines – 147
5) Kelvin Harmon – 142
If Harmon keeps up his current pace, he will finish this season with right under 3,000 career receiving yards, ranking 3rd in NC State history, and projects to finish in 4th place in career receptions. Keep in mind, all of the receivers in front of him in the history books played 4 seasons, where Harmon will likely only play 3.
He is on pace to finish the year with 1,475 receiving yards and 85 receptions. That would be the 2nd most receiving yards in a season, and 3rd most receptions.
Harmon made a STATEMENT in Saturday’s loss. He has no business playing college football another season. We already knew that. The STATEMENT that was made: He’s a legit 1st round talent.
