Safety Cecil Powell Signs Letter of Intent to Play for NC State

3-Star 2019 NC State Safety Cecil Powell (6’1″/193) signed his letter of intent to play football at NC State today.

A 1st-team all-county selection from Broward County!

Powell originally committed to Baylor on December 10th, but decommitted from the Bears on Saturday. He picked up an offer from the Wolfpack in the middle of January, took an official visit to Raleigh the last week of the month.

He was supposed to take an official visit to Oregon this past weekend, but the in-home visit with the NC State coaches ultimately nixed that.

Powell had 45 tackles, 8 interceptions, 5 pass breakups and 4 forced fumbles for Piper High School (Sunrise, FL) this year.
