Unfortunately Redshirt Senior Offensive Lineman Tyrone Riley has battled injuries his whole career at NC State. He tore his bicep as a Redshirt Freshman, had shoulder surgery in the Spring of his Redshirt Sophomore season, and missed all of last season due to breaking a bone in his foot on the 2nd day of practice. Riley was projected to be the starting Left Tackle heading into 2019.

“Last year was really hard for me. The injury happened so early,” Riley said on Wednesday. “I finally felt like it was my time to get on the field and show what I can do. What made it worse for me, was that I didn’t even get to play in a game. It weighed heavy on me.”  (Link)

Riley was granted a 6th year of eligibility, riving him the opportunity to finally show what he can do in 2020. He was projected to start at Left Tackle before his injury last year, but that spot is no longer available due to the emergence of young phenom Ikem Ekwonu. With that being said, Riley is likely to start at Right Tackle in 2020.

“I’m excited to be back out there. I have no doubt about my foot. I’m feeling confident and happy to be back out there playing ball.  (Link)
