Demie Sumo-Karngbaye Week 1 Highlight Reel

NC State Football’s media team knocked it out of the park this week with their highlight reel of Redshirt Freshman Running Back Demie Sumo-Karngbaye’s breakout performance against East Carolina in the Wolfpack’s season opening victory. Sumo had 12 carries for 79 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and a touchdown.

Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren had this to say about Sumo at his weekly presser yesterday:

“Demie Sumo-Karngbaye for his first game really showed up. You’ve heard me talk a lot about him, and he showed why we’re excited about him and his future. He’s a hard guy to tackle. He’s tough.” (GoPack)

Junior Jordan Houston saw 17 more snaps in the season opener, but Doeren indicated that the load might be more balanced going forward.

“But yeah, I think last week it was probably two-to-one. Now it will probably be a little more balanced on reps between those two guys. But we like both of them, and we think both of them are really good football players.” (GoPack)
