Colorado Offensive Tackle Transfer Casey Roddick took an Official Visit to NC State last week, and is taking one to Florida State this weekend. Prior to beginning his Official Visit down in Thallahassee this weekend, Roddick gave me his thoughts on his visit to Raleigh.
1) When did you first hear from NC State after you entered the portal?
Heard from them early on in the process. One of the first teams to reach out.
2) What is your familiarity with NC State?
I love watching the brand of football that NC state produces. I have been a fan of NC state for years in terms of how they play and develop players as well.
3) What did you do on your Official Visit? What was your experience like? What were the highlights?
Highlights were seeing the facilities, as well as the city of Raleigh. Talking with Coach Doeren was also a major highlight and great experience to hear his philosophies in regards to what encompasses a football team and culture dynamic.
4) What was NC State’s pitch for you to join the Wolfpack?
It’s a perfect scenario to win , be around like minded people , and create an optimal scenario that will benefit my future.
5) What other schools have been recruiting you the hardest since entering the portal, and where does NC State stand in comparison?
Oklahoma and Florida State, but NC State remains at a premium.
From the looks of it, NC State made quite the impression on Roddick last week, and look to be his leader as he heads into his Official Visit at FSU.
Roddick was a three-year starter at Colorado and was a team captain this year. Roddick had a grade of 65.3 this season according to ProFootballFocus. Roddick was a 3-star prospect out of high school.
