NC State Offers 4-Star 7-Foot Center Peyton Marshall

Published

on

4-Star 2024 Center Peyton Marshall (7’0″/310) had a good conversation with NC State Head Coach Kevin Keatts on Sunday, and by the end of it, he’d received an offer from NC State.

Marshall is a consensus 4-star prospect, and 247Sports ranks him as the #46 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class, the #6 Center, and the #4 player in the state of Georgia.

Some call him the “Shaq” of High School Basketball. Imagine Marshall coming in right after D.J. Burns leaves?

Marshall is a former Auburn commit, but recently decommitted after some changes within the staff.

Matthew is Publisher and Co-Owner of Pack Insider. He is also the Lead Pastor of The Point Church in Cary, NC.

So did the PI staff take vacation? Are they too shocked at Miranda leaving to even comment? It has been over a week since any news was posted.

Had a good conversation” is an odd phrase. Normally you hear ‘after visiting‘.

You’d love to have an even taller ‘unstoppable force’ but it’s a long road from ‘being offered’ to actually putting on the jersey. Not going to get excited about this guy for another year, if he even does sign with us.

Don’t worry, he will not be coming to State. I am surprised that Burns came back.

I’m not worried about his weight. He will get in shape under KK. Has anyone noticed the pics of Burns from the beginning of last year to now.?

4-Star Forward Kanon Catchings is Taking an Official Visit to NC State Starting Tonight

Published

on

4-Star 2024 Forward Kanon Catchings (6’9″/215) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State starting this evening, according to a source.

Catchings is the #31 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class according to Rivals. ESPN ranks him as the #2 player in the state of Georgia, playing for Overtime Elite with 2024 NC State Signee Trey Parker.

On September 22, 2022, Catchings verbally committed to Purdue, but he decommitted from the Boilermakers a week ago. He took an Official Visit to BYU nearly immediately after.

Technically speaking, after Ernest Ross announced he was coming back, NC State already has 13 scholarship players heading into the 2024-25 season. With that being said, in the world of NIL, teams can be more creative, covering someone’s scholarship costs with NIL money.

This year at Overtime Elite, Catchings averaged 14.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shooting 66.7% from the field, and 36.2% from three.

3-Star 2025 Defensive Lineman London Simmons (6’3″/295) took an Official Visit to NC State this past weekend. I caught up with him to get his thoughts on the experience.

Walk through the visit. What did you do? Where did you go? Who did you meet?

I went to NC State I ate with the coaches and hung out with the players. I met a couple of the players like Red Hibbler.

What was the message from the coaches to you?

That I will get on the field early.

How do you think NC State might be a good fit for you?

At my high school we run the same defense.

What was your favorite part?

Just being around the coaches and players. Getting to know each other and asking the players questions.

Where does NC State stand in your recruitment? What do you like about the Wolfpack?

NC State is up there. It’s a family environment.

Do you have any other visits scheduled?

My next 2 are Alabama and Arkansas.

_______

ON3 ranks Simmons as the #14 overall player in the state of Mississippi in the 2025 recruiting class.

Last season, Simmons had 78 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks for Hartfield Academy in Flowood, Mississippi.
