Payton Wilson’s 2022 Highlight Reel

Redshirt Senior Linebacker Payton Wilson is primed for a huge year. Last season, he ranked 3rd on the team in tackles (82) and tackles for loss (12.5). He also had 4.5 sacks, 1 interception, and 3 pass breakups. He did this coming off an injury he suffered in 2021 that caused him to miss the final 10 games.

He enters this season with Preseason 1st Team All-ACC honors. Don’t forget, in 2020 Wilson earned 1st team All-ACC honors from the AP and the official league team. He led the ACC in tackles, averaging 10.8 tackles per game. He ranked 4th in the FBS in total tackles.

A healthy Wilson will finish this season leaving a dent in the NC State record books.

Drake Thomas and Isaiah Moore are gone. Wilson is healthy. It’s his time to shine.
