The 10th ranked NC State Women’s Basketball team’s (7-0) torrid streak continued today, defeating #3 Colorado (6-1) 78-60 in the Paradise Jam finale.
It’s only been 13 days since NC State toppled UCONN in Reynolds Coliseum, who was ranked #2 at the time.
Today, Senior Center River Baldwin had herself a day, leading the Pack with 24 points, which marks a new career high. Baldwin also had a team high 8 rebounds.
Junior Guard Aziaha James was next in line, chipping in 15 points (6-14 FG) and 6 boards.
Senior Guard Madison Hayes had 11 points and Senior Forward Mimi Collins had 10, making it 4 Wolfpack players in double figures.
Junior Guard Saniya Rivers had 7 points, 7 boards and a team high 7 assists, as well as 2 steals.
The Wolfpack’s defense continued to be dominant, holding Colorado to only 60 points. The Buffaloe’s shot a dismal 32.8% from the field, and committed 18 turnovers.
Fun fact: This is the 25th time NC State has beaten a Top-5 opponent in program history, but the 18-point margin of victory is the 2nd largest in those 25 victories.
NC State will host Vanderbilt on Wednesday night at 7:15pm in the ACC/SEC challenge.
