NC State OL Dawson Jaramillo Granted Extra Year of Eligibility

Published

on

NC State Offensive Lineman Dawson Jaramillo (6’5″/305) has been granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA, after suffering a season ending knee injury prior to the start of the 2023 season.

2024 will be Jaramillo’s 7th season playing college football.

Jaramillo was a 4-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. ESPN ranked him as the #1 player in the state of Oregon, and the #127 overall player nationally. Jaramillo would ultimately commit to his home state team, the Oregon Ducks.

In December of 2022, Jaramillo transferred to NC State.

In 2022, Jaramillo played in 6 games, totaling 77 snaps, earning a grade of 69.9 according to ProFootballFocus. In 2021, he played in 329 snaps in 10 games. Over Jaramillo’s final two seasons at Oregon, he played all over the offensive line for the Ducks, playing at both Guard and Tackle, and even practiced at Center.

This is huge news for Jaramillo, and huge news for the NC State Offensive Line in 2024. The Wolfpack return all of their starters on the O-Line besides Center Dylan McMahon, but Zeke Correll transferred in from Notre Dame for that role. Jaramillo adds a quality depth piece that can play all over the Offensive Line, and could possibly push one of the starters for their position.

It’s also fitting that Jaramillo’s announcement was on a Monday (yesterday), because he is notorious for posting a picture of himself and using the hashtag #mulletmonday.

Here’s what they had to say about the Wolfpack:

18. NC State Wolfpack

Previous ranking: 20

2023 record: 9-4, 6-2 ACC

Winter update: The Wolfpack should be much more explosive on offense after adding former Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall and some nice playmakers around him. McCall passed for more than 10,000 yards with 106 total touchdowns with the Chanticleers. The Wolfpack also added Jordan Waters, who was Duke’s leading rusher with 819 yards and 12 scores in 2023. Eight new receivers are coming in, including Noah Rogers (Ohio State) and Wesley Grimes (Wake Forest). Tight end Justin Joly was very productive at UConn. Safety Donovan Kaufman (Auburn) and cornerbacks Tamarcus Cooley (Maryland) and Devon Marshall (Villanova) might help fill some holes in the secondary. (ESPN)
