When DJ Horne transferred from Arizona St. to NC State, he was coming home.

Horne is from Raleigh. He played at Cary High School (and then at Trinity Christian in Fayetteville). He played AAU ball for Garner Rd.

Over and over again, he said he came home to go to the NCAA Tournament.

Even, when he was named 3rd Team All-ACC, he reiterated his reason for coming home.

After each victory in the ACC Tournament, Horne just kept saying, ‘Why Not Us?’

He knew why he came home, and he knew what it would take to get there.

“I came with a mission, and to see this right now, with the confetti all over the place. This for the city, man. This for the 919, man. Shoutout to Wolfpack nation. The job isn’t done. Like I said from the jump, Why Not Us?

Horne averaged 17.8 points per game in the ACC Tournament, but there was no bigger performance than his 29 point outpouring against UNC last night.
