NC State Men’s Basketball Coach Kevin Keatts was on the hot seat heading into the ACC Tournament, with his team ranked 10th in the ACC, and an overall record of 17-14.

After winning 5 games in 5 days in the ACC Tournament to win the Wolfpack’s first championship since 1987, and 4 straight games in the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 1983, his seat is cold as ice.

As a result of winning the ACC Tournament, a 2-year extension was triggered, extending his contract through 2030, and his annual compensation was increased by $400,000. He also received a $100,000 bonus for winning the ACC Tournament.

For advancing to the Final Four, Keatts received a bonus of $200,000, and an additional $100,000 increase to his annual salary. (Reaching the Final Four has the ability to trigger a 2-year contract extension, but the contract can only be extended by 2 years in a single season.)

After finishing 10th in the Final AP Poll yesterday, Keatts received a final bonus of $100,000.

In total, Keatts received $400,000 in one-time bonuses for the Wolfpack’s miracle run through March, a 2-year contract extension through 2030, and $500,000 added to his annual salary (from $2.7 million to $3.2 million).
