NC State 2020 Football Commits Week 10 Report

Before Week 11 of the High School Football season kicks off tonight, here’s a rundown on how the 2020 NC State verbal commitments did in Week 10.

4-Star Wide Receiver Porter Rooks had 5 receptions for 63 yards in Myers Park’s 41-0 victory over East Meck.

4-Star Offensive Tackle Austin Blaske and South Effingham defeated Ware County 49-28. Blaske had 5 knockdown blocks, and has compiled 71 on the year.

3-Star Cornerback Aydan White had a 91-yard touchdown reception in Christ School’s 40-13 victory over Asheville School.

3-Star Defensive Tackle Jaylen Smith had 6 tackles (1 for loss) in Hertford County’s 45-27 loss to Currituck County.

3-Star Quarterback Ben Finely was 4 of 6 for 47 yards and an interception in Paradise Valley’s 49-0 loss to Horizon.

3-Star Linebacker Devon Betty had 1 tackle in St. Thomas Aquinas’ 42-0 victory over Ft. Lauderdale.

3-Star Cornerback Devan Boykin had 36 yards receiving, with a 17-yard touchdown reception.

3-Star Offensive Guard Sean Hill was the highest graded offensive player on Brookwood’s team in their 50-19 lost to Parkview.

3-Star Wide Receiver Josh Crabtree had 4 receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in Heritage’s 29-0 victory over Knightdale

3-Star Tight End Ezemdi Udoh had 1 reception for 19 yards and 2 tackles (1 for loss) in Terry Sanford’s 49-14 victory over Westover.

3-Star Defensive Tackle Pheldarius Payne had 6 tackles and 3 tackles for loss in Lackawanna’s 48-18 victory over Nassau.

3-Star EDGE Mykah Newton Locks In An Official Visit to NC State

3-Star 2025 EDGE Mykah Newton (6’3″/250) has locked in an Official Visit to NC State for June 7-9.

Newton plays for Newberry High School (Newberry, Floriday) down in the sunshine state. His Junior stats last season were extremely impressive, racking up 62 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.

NC State offered Newton last week on May 13th, and he also holds offers from UCF, Michigan St., Georgia Tech, UCONN and others.

Newton also has Official Visits scheduled with UCF (June 14-16), Michigan St. (May 31-June 2) and UCONN (June 21-23).

3-Star DL Dior Garner Locks In Official Visit to NC State

3-Star 2025 Defensive Lineman Dior Garner (6’4″/285) has locked in an Official Visit to NC State on June 21-23.

Garner also has Official Visits scheduled with Central Michigan (June 15-17), Eastern Michigan (June 9-11) and Bowling Green (June 7-9).

Currently, he is planning on making his college decision on July 1st.

NC State Defensive Lineman Coach Wiles was in to see Garner last week.

Garner plays for McKinley in Canton, Ohio. He holds offers from Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Bowling Green and others.

3-Star DL London Simmons Locks In Official Visit to NC State

3-Star 2025 Defensive Lineman London Simmons (6’3″/295) has locked in an Official Visit to NC State for June 7-9.

247Sports ranks Simmons as the #15 overall player in the state of Mississippi in the 2025 recruiting class.

Last season, Simmons had 78 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks for Hartfield Academy in Flowood, Mississippi.

Simmons also has an Official Visit scheduled with Arkansas on June 21-23.

The Wolfpack offered Simmons back on April 30, and he also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Duke and others.

4-Star OT Connor Howes has Scheduled His Official Visit to NC State

4-Star 2025 Offensive Tackle Connor Howes (6’6”/300) confirmed with me that he is taking an Official Visit to NC State beginning on June 14th.

ON3 ranks Howes as the #131 overall player nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, the #13 Offensive Tackle and the #22 player in the state of Florida.

Back in March 27th, NC State offered Howes. He also holds offers from UCF, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Rutgers, USF and others.

Howes plays for St. Cloud in St. Cloud, Florida.
