RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball and The V Foundation are teaming up in November in the fight against cancer.

The Wolfpack’s exhibition game vs. Morehouse on Saturday, Nov. 2 at PNC Arena will benefit and highlight the work of The V Foundation. The V Foundation for Cancer Research was formed by ESPN and the Wolfpack’s legendary coach Jim Valvano in 1993.

Admission to the game, which will be played the same day as NC State football’s Homecoming game against UNC, is free. Fans are encouraged to donate to The V Foundation at the game. V Foundation volunteers will be on hand at all arena entrances to accept contributions.

Programming for the night will include: video messages from various celebrities, the sale of special V Foundation merchandise and a halftime check presentation.

The game’s start time will be announced when that day’s football kickoff time is determined.

Although Jimmy V lost his battle with cancer, his dream of a cure lives on through research grants bestowed in his name. The V Foundation has awarded more than $100 million to more than 100 facilities nationwide and proudly awards 100 percent of direct donations and net event proceeds to cancer research.
