Opening comments…

LEWIS: Well this season this team has changed a ton because we lost five people who played a lot last year and knowing me and TJ played significant minutes throughout the season last year, we have to step up and be leaders for the young players, be vocal and lead by example throughout the season.

WARREN: With the all the new faces in the program we got a good group of guys thatwant to get better and improve everyday and me and tyler are doing a good job of leading them on through this process and we can’t wait to get out there with those guys.

TJ how much do you need to score for this team to be successful? …

WARREN: Whatever my team needs me to do I’m going to do it. They got my back and I got theirs. With the coaching staff’s support anything can happen for this team this season.

Are there other guys who can score it?…

WARREN: Most definitely. We have Ralston Turner. He has the ability to make shots. He averaged 12 points per game at LSU his first two years. We have Dez Lee who has come from a strong background. Tyler Lewis. We just have a good group a guys that everyone is going to get a good feel for this season.

TJ you were so efficient last year. Will you being forced to score more hurt your efficiency?…

WARREN: I’m not focused on that. I just want to go out there, play to win and play hard.

Tyler you’re going to be looking to TJ a lot, right?…

LEWIS: A lot. I mean, he’s a great scorer and I have to put him in positions where he can score and where he likes the ball. Most likely wherever I give him the ball he’s going to score it. He’s one of the best scorers in the ACC, if not the country.

How much does last year’s early exit to Temple motivate you for this year?…

LEWIS: That took a big toll on me and TJ. When we got back, the four returners we had coming back, we took a week off then got right back to workouts, just knowing we have to be better next year and knowing we have to play our best basketball at the end of the season. With the incoming freshman and TJ coming along, we might struggle a little bit at the beginning with the newcomers but we’ll just pick it up throughout the season and hopefully play our best at the end.

WARREN: We really want to build off of last year. That early exit really hurt but we’ve moved on from that and with the new players, they know how good and how successful we want to be, so it really just starts in the gym working.
