The NC State men’s basketball team has its final tune-up of the preseason this Saturday when it hosts Morehouse College at 5 p.m. Admission to the game is free but fans are encouraged to make a donation to the V Foundation upon entering PNC Arena.

Morehouse, an NCAA Division II team located in Atlanta, was 20-8 last season but returns even less from last year’s team than NC State does. Only two players from the 2012-13 Morehouse roster return, and they combined for just six starts. Saturday’s contest is Morehouse’s only exhibition.

NC State is coming off a 96-85 exhibition win over UNC Pembroke on Wednesday at Reynolds Coliseum. T.J. Warrenrecorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Tyler Lewis dished 15 assists, five of which led to NC State dunks.

Ralston Turner added 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting in what was his first time wearing a Wolfpack uniform. In all, six players saw action in a home white State uniform for the first time. Desmond Lee, Kyle Washington and Lennard Freeman all saw major minutes. Anthony `Cat’ Barber was another player fans were excited to see, and he delivered with 14 points.

“So many new guys and young guys, it gives those guys like Cat and Desmond and Lennard and Kyle and BeeJay a chance to play in front of people, to put on your uniform and play,” head coach Mark Gottfried said after Wednesday’s win. “I think our group needed that.”

After the team’s second and final exhibition, NC State will open the 2013-14 regular season Friday, Nov. 8 against Appalachian State.
