AUDIO: Gottfried Talks Duke, Getting bigs the ball

Next up for NC State is #23 Duke on Saturday. With such an important matchup on the horizon, it’s important for NC State to learn from their mistakes and make quick changes on the fly. One of those changes will be to get the bigs involved. We hammered this point home in our postgame assessment of the Wake Forest game, but now it’s head coach Mark Gottfried who is getting vocal about the issue in his pregame press conference. The Wolfpack guards need to trust their bigs, especially when the guards are only shooting 23%  in a game and the bigs are nearly touching 70% (stats from the Wake Forest game).

Gott also talks about Duke’s weakness in the paint and the health of Tyler Lewis, who is still being listed as a game time decision vs. Duke. Remember,  last year it was Lewis who went for 13 points, 6 assists and 0 turnovers against a very good #4 ranked Blue Devil team.
