Richard Howell Rips Down 30 Boards in Asia

Howell’s Asian debut was a success. After leaving the D-League to make more money overseas, Howell inked with a team in the Philippines called ‘Talk ‘N Text.’ In his first game, the former Wolfpack big man did what he was so used to doing in college….ruling the boards.

Howell led Talk ‘N Text to the victory over defending champion Alaska with 15 points and 30 boards. Yes, you read that right, 30 boards. The only quote we could findo n the game was from the Talk ‘N Text coach who said this.

“It’s a great start for us and I’m happy for the team. Richard (Howell) is not a great offensive player but a good defender and a great rebounder. It’s something that we need,”

I’m not exactly sure why he’d say that Howell isn’t a great offensive player when he was second on the team in scoring in his first game, but oh well. The fact is, Howell is still out there making a name for himself. With his work ethic and his drive, there’s no doubt he’ll get his shot in the NBA at some point.
