NBA Draft Update: Where will Warren Go?

With the NBA Draft set for tonight, NC State fans are wondering where there star TJ Warren will fall. The prolific scorer will add a proven scorer and high IQ wing to whoever takes the chance on the former Pack star. Let’s take a closer look:

While media outlets have TJ all over the board, a few have made some pretty bold claims. Here is one from @SportsSpotNet.

This would make TJ the #14 overall pick and put him on a team in need of a quality scoring wing. What makes this even more concrete is the fact that now Chad Forde has jumped on board and has Warren going #17 to the Suns as well.

But that’s not the only take out there…

Some think the Celtics will be the ones to take him at #17. Jeff Goodman is one of those people and says this about TJ.

Warren is not an exceptional athlete, but neither was Paul Pierce. Warren can flat-out score, and his perimeter shot is hardly broken. Boston needs a guy like Warren, who was ACC Player of the Year last year while carrying the N.C. State Wolfpack to the NCAA tournament.

Goodman, however, is known for undervaluing NC State and their players, so obviously he thinks Warren will fall a few more spots to Boston. This would be a nice fit for Boston, another team who needs wing scoring and a team that is used to unconventional scorers (ie. Paul Pierce).

Early on there was talk about Warren falling into the 20’s but as the draft has neared, many have switched their stance and moved him up into the teens.

We’ll have to wait and see tonight, but no matter what, Wolfpack fans are going to see TJ walk up to the stage get his due and make his school proud.
