A team the Swims together…?

Have you ever wondered about Coach Gottfried’s post defense? Well recently we saw that it is pretty stout! BeeJay Anya was unable to score on Coach Gottfried… OK, it was in the pool and the goal was maybe 5 feet high. Recently, Coach Gottfried and many of the players posted fun videos and pictures of a pool party they had at Coach Gottfried’s house on Instagram and Twitter. One thing that I loved about last year’s team was the camaraderie displayed by each teammate. No matter the outcome or the situation the team stood together. There weren’t many public squabbles or outbursts by the players. Coaches were pleased with the effort and attitudes of the players when it came to constructive criticism. We frequently saw Gottfried put his arms around players and have a little calming chat. Most of the time the players responded positively to these impromptu lessons.

The season will be here before we know it! I am sure that this team has a lot of talent and a selfless approach which will pay great dividends come ACC play. Sometimes the most talented doesn’t always come out on top. More often, the teams that execute and put team success over personal accolades are the ones who stand victorious when clock strikes zero. Is it basketball season yet?
