Rodon & Buchanan Representing Pack Well

Published

on

Currently, NC State has two baseball players representing the Wolfpack in the Major League: Jake Buchanan of the Houston Astros and Carlos Rodon of the Chicago White Sox.

Buchanan was called up to the majors on May 14th after Brett Oberholtzer was placed on the disabled list due to a blister issue. He has seen action in three games in relief, and has been solid in this short sample size, picking up three holds. Buchanan has a 1.59 ERA through 5.2 innings.

Rodon has a 1-0 record in four games started thus far for the White Sox. He has struck our 25 batters in 28.2 batters, and has posted a 3.45 ERA. His past two starts have been quality starts, giving up 2 earned runs over that stretch. The most impressive aspect of Rodon’s last start was the fact that he didn’t issue any walks, after walking 15 batters through his first 3 starts. Rodon’s next start is Thursday against the Texas Rangers on the road.

I think when Maryland lost to the Wolfpack at Carter Finley couple of years a go was bigger.

Too bad Rodon wasn’t available last night.  Biggest choke I have ever seen
