NC State had 5 players drafted in the MLB draft today, three Juniors and two Seniors.  12 Wolfpack players have been drafted over the past two seasons.

2B – Senior Logan Ratledge – Pirates – 13th Round (397th pick)

Second Baseman Logan Ratledge was NC State’s best offensive player this season, and it wasn’t even close.  He led the team in batting average (.329), hits (76), runs (53), doubles (19), HR (10), SLG (.558), walks (32) and OBP (.431).  Ratledge was named to the All-ACC 3rd Team.

RHP – Junior Curt Britt – Marlins – 19th Round (566th pick)

After transferring from South Carolina last season, Britt adjusted well in Raleigh, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.24 ERA.  He recorded 53 strikeouts in 56 innings.

RHP – Junior Jon Olczak – Brewers – 21st Round (631st pick)

Olczak held batters to a dismal .188 batting average this season pitching in relief for the Wolfpack.  His ERA was 2.55 and struck out 47 batters in 42 innings.

LHP – Junior Brad Stone – Red Sox – 24th Round (711th pick)

The Red Sox saw the brilliance that Stone showed last season, and drafted him despite a subpar year this season.  Stone’s ERA this season was 5.28, and walked 18 batters in 15 innings.  He did hold batters to a .188 batting average.

CF – Senior Jake Fincher – White Sox – 29th Round (862nd pick)

Fincher was a 2nd Team All-ACC selection this year.  His average was an impressive .291, but his greatest talent is the insane ability he has to cover ground and make spectacular plays in center field.
