Debbie Yow has vowed that she will lead NC State to being an annual Top-25 athletic program.  Today the newest rankings in the Directors’ Cup were released, and the Wolfpack moved up from 31st to 27th place.  What moved NC State up this time was the strong finishes of the Wolfpack Men’s Golf and Women Softball teams.

The Women’s Softball team finished the season ranked 19th in the polls, marking the first time the program has ever finished in the Top-25. NC State also became the first NCAA Division I softball program from North Carolina to make it to the super regionals.

The NC State Men’s Golf team narrowly missed advancing to the 2015 NCAA Championships back in May.  They tied for sixth place in a competitive field at the NCAA New Haven (Yale) Regional, one stoke away from a playoff with fifth place LSU.

The final two sports to be calculated in the Directors’ Cup standings for the 2014-15 season are Track & Field and Men’s Baseball.  The rankings will be updated on June 16th after the finish of Track & Field and then the final standings will be revealed at the end of the College Baseball Season on June 25th or 26th.
