Watch Reynolds Coliseum Construction LIVE

The $35 million dollar renovation of Reynolds Coliseum is under way, and one of the construction partners is none other than Holt Brothers Construction (Torry & Terrence).  Reynolds was opened for business back in 1949 (before the existence of the ACC), and has at one point or another been the home of nearly every sport that can be played inside.

If you love watching construction, they have set up a live webcam inside of Reynolds so that fans can watch the progress unfold.  The picture above is what I have been watching for the past 12 hours, so if you’re bored today at work, check back regularly for the heck of it, just to see if anythings changed.

The Technician gives this summary of the Reynolds construction project:

The basketball court, which currently sits in the center of the building, will be moved toward the north end, leaving room for a 35-foot open “Grand Hall” at the south entrance. Other renovations include a new roof, new windows and glass doors separating the lobby from the court, allowing spectators to view on-court activities. Both the basketball and the volleyball offices will be modernized, overlooking the “Grand Hall” and Walk of Fame and History. Most importantly, Reynolds Coliseum will finally have air conditioning. In fact, make sure to go read the Technician article in it’s entirety for more of the history of Reynold’s Coliseum, and more details of the plans.

Below are some pictures of what the Reynolds makeover should look like when it’s all said and done.
