That Time Steph Curry Lit Up NC State for 44 & Lebron Clapped

Now, I really never like rehashing NC State losses, but with the Finals hype at a fever pitch, this one just seems too perfect and too timely to pass up.

If you don’t remember, this was Curry’s senior year when Davidson was ranked 22nd and NC State was teetering right outside the top 25. All the Pack needed to do was slow down Curry (who was a one man wrecking crew that season). Obviously, that didn’t happen.

Curry got white hot and started scorching Trevor Ferguson and Javi Gonzalez. He finished with 44, but his run towards the end of the game was somewhat legendary.

The game was being played in Charlotte on a neutral floor and it just so happened that Lebron James was in town (Cleveland was playing the Hornets).

Watch Bron in utter disbelief as Curry finishes off State with a deep 3. The King gives the kid a standing ovation…something he hopes he won’t be doing as this Finals series comes down the stretch run.

Curry was a junior, not a senior.
