GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sprinter and jumper Jonathan Addison of the NC State track and field team has been named the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, as voted on by the league’s head coaches and announced by the conference office Thursday.

The standout rising senior adds this honor to his impressive outdoor season that featured 15 top-five finishes, two personal best marks and several conference and national awards.

This award adds to a growing list of accolades the Raleigh, N.C., native received throughout the 2015 campaign. During the indoor season he earned second-team All-America honors in the long jump, Southeast Region Men’s Field Performer of the Year and ACC Men’s Field Co-MVP at the ACC Indoor Championships.

At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Addison soared to a lifetime best mark of 26’2.75″ in the long jump to finish fourth and earn first-team All-America honors. The mark stands as the second-best jump in school history.

At the ACC Outdoor Championships, Addison took top-four honors in four events, including silver medals in the high jump as well as the long jump. He earned two first-team All-ACC honors, and one second-team All-ACC honor.

The three-time All-American in the long jump has also been a standout in the classroom, earning a place on the Capital One Academic All-District Team and making the All-ACC Academic Team in three straight appearances.
