Jake Lawler Talks NC State Offer

On Thursday, 2017 Defensive End Jake Lawler (Charlotte, NC) camped at NC State, and picked up his fifth offer.  We were able to talk to Jake, and let him tell us how it all went down.

“We were in the middle of one-on-one drills, and then Coach Nielsen told me to go talk to Coach Doreen.  He asked me what did I learn today, and if I liked it,” said Lawler.  “He asked me if I thought that Coach Nielsen could be a good coach for me, and if I could see this place being a good place to develop me to be a better player and a person.  Then he offered me a scholarship.”

Lawler’s parents both went to UNC, and grew up a Tar Hell fan, but said that receiving offers from NC State, Duke and Wake Forest put things in perspective.

“I’ve kind have distanced myself from the whole loyalty thing, considering the fact that Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State have offered me now,” said Lawler. “I respect all schools equally now.”

We shall see how equal that respect really is.  Lawler camped at UNC yesterday and left with an offer from the Tar Heels.
