Patrick Kearns Talks NC State Visit

3-star (247) 2016 Offensive Lineman Patrick Kearns visited Raleigh back on June 12th. Recently we talked to him about his time up in Raleigh.

“It was great. I really liked it,” said Kearns. “I really like Coach Doeren and Coach Uremovich. They were my kind of people and I think I could see myself there. They told me that they are building a program there, and it’s going to be good. They also focus on academics pretty hard, which is something I look for in a school, because I want to be Pre-Med.  Coach Doeren was actually Pre-Med when he was in college. I know he understands that it’s a difficult course.”

When asked which schools were recruiting him the hardest, he had this to say.

“NC State’s coming after me pretty hard, and so are Virginia Tech, Illinois, Florida and Kentucky.” Said Kearns

Kearns holds offers from all of the schools he listed, and he visited the Gators this past Friday.

Academics obviously are important to Kearns, but he’s also looking for a city that is passionate and loyal to the football program.

“I like that they have a following in Raleigh. I don’t want to go to a place where it’s dead and no one cares about the football team,” said Kearns. “It seems like everyone in the town is fired up about it and looking forward to game day, and that’s something I look for.”
