Georgios Papagiannis Talks to Sports Illustrated

Sports Illustrated ran the most detailed and informative article that I have read on NC State 2015 Center target Georgios Papagiannis to-date.  If you’re interested in being informed on Papagiannis, then the article is a must read.  If you’re looking for the cliff notes version…here you go.

College isn’t a guarantee for Papagiannis.  He’s entertaining the 2016 NBA Draft, and is considering whether or not he will get more playing time with Panathinaikos, his professional club team in Greece.

But if he goes to college, he has narrowed it down to NC State, St. John’s, Kentucky, and Oregon.

Papagiannis told SI.com he’s committed to making a decision soon—possibly by the July 5 conclusion of the U19s—but he hasn’t fully committed to the NCAAs. “There’s a chance I’ll stay here, and there’s a chance I’ll go there,” he said. “I have made a list with four schools: N.C. State, Kentucky, St. John’s and Oregon.” (via SI)

If he makes his decision by July 5th, he will have done so without taking visits.  

The article says that his father wants him to come to the United States to play college basketball, which confirms what our source told us previously.

Also, Papagiannis told SI that it has always been his dream to play college basketball.

“it’s one of my dreams to go to college. … From the beginning [when] I started loving basketball and saw all these great players on TV, I thought I want to go to college.”
