The Rolling Stones Stole Tuffy

According to IndyWeek, The Rolling Stones got a little overzealous in their desire to sell merchandise at their concert tonight at Carter-Finley Stadium.  The above shirts are being sold tonight, where Tuffy’s face has been replaced by John Pasche’s famous tongue.  The problem is that AEG Live, the Stones promoter, failed to get permission to use the trademarked mascot of the Wolfpack.  The royalties that are made on the use of a trademarked image goes to funding scholarships, endowments and student programs.

“AEG Live’s representative acknowledged the mistake and the ‘need to make this right’ with the university,” he says. “The university is working to resolve this amicably with AEG Live and Bravado in a timely manner, but is expected to receive its full trademark royalties (12–14 percent) on any sales with that particular graphic.” (Via Indy)
