Happy 27th Birthday Nate Irving!

Few players have worn the Red-and-White and played with the passion and dominance of Irving. If the opponent had the ball in the backfield, they were Nasty Nate’s.  Irving holds the NCAA record for the most tackles-for-loss in a single game with 8. If he could have only had four full healthy years at NC State, his impact on the Wolfpack record books would have been huge. Irving missed a couple of games due to injury in 2008, and then missed the entire 2009 season after surviving a horrific car wreck. Despite only playing three seasons, he ranks 7th all time in NC State history in tackles-for-loss with 39.5, and his 20.5 tackles for loss in 2010 is the 4th most in a single season. In 2010 he earned First Team All-American (Scout & Sports Illustrated) and First Team All-ACC honors.

After spending the past 4 seasons with the Denver Broncos, Irving will be suiting up this year with the Indianapolis Colts.

Enjoy Nate’s birthday by watching this highlight reel of his time at NC State!
