Cullen Jones Finishes 5th in 50m Free

Yesterday former NC State swimmer Cullen Jones finished 5th in the 50m Freestyle at the Pan Am Games in Toronto.  After winning his heat with a time of 21.12, he went on to post a time of 22.23 in the Finals, which was good for 5th. At the age of 31, Jones is still one of the best in the work at what he does.

This is the event (50m Free) that Jones is still the national record holder for, which he set back in 2009.

He is a 4-time Olympic Medalist.

2012 London Olympic Games: gold in 4 x 100 m medley relay, silver in 50 m freestyle and 4 x 100 m freestyle relay
2008 Beijing Olympic: Gold in 4 x 100 m freestyle relay. Jones became the 1st African American swimmer to ever win a gold medal.
