Dylan Parham Talks Commitment

Last November Quarterback Dylan Parham decided to run with the NC State Wolfpack. We caught up with Parham to get his take on what was going through his head when he made his decision.

“As a sophomore I played varsity which jump started my recruitment. During the Spring workouts of my Sophomore year Old Dominion was the first to offer,” said Parham. “Then my team went to NC State 7-on-7 camp, and I guess I performed really well. I came back after camp that Monday and Coach Doeren offered me.”

He said that Duke, Boston College, and UNC Charlotte were recruiting him at the time, and was beginning to hear from Virginia Tech, but the upward direction of NC State combined with his Wolfpack roots pushed him to go ahead and make the decision.

“I liked the direction NC State was heading at the end of the season. I saw the program was definitely on the rise,” said Parham. “With the recruiting class they brought in in 2015, with all of those running backs and other big time guys, it really solidified my decision of wanting to go there. Also, my dad went to NC State, so I’ve been around it my whole life. For my parents  to be able to see me play was a big thing for me as well.”

As a Junior last season, Parham threw for 1,773 yards and 15 touchdowns, and rushed for 394 yards and 7 touchdowns. He’s looking forward to finishing his high school journey early and beginning the next one at NC State.

“They are excited to have me, especially because I’m graduating early in December and enrolling at NC State in January.” Said Parham
