2 Schools Recruiting Dexter Lawrence Hardest

ABC11 has been featuring a local high school football player all week long leading up to the season beginning tonight. They saved the best for last, running a feature on Wake Forest High’s Dexter Lawrence, the #1 overall player in the nation according to Rivals.com. In the video, Lawrence stated that NC State and UNC were the two schools recruiting him harder than anyone else.

The summer of his sophomore year was when his recruitment really took off, and he said that he didn’t even know what an offer was before then.  Now he has offers from every major program in the nation, and gets 30+ pieces of mail from schools each and every day.  Lawrence told ABC that he is looking for a coach that “loves the game” and teammates that “match his personality.”  He’s also looking for somewhere he “can see the field right away.”

“NC State and UNC are the Top 2 right now that are after me pretty hard.  It’s just a hard decision I’m going to have to make, whether I want to stay in-state or go out.” said Lawrence.
