Earl Wolff Waived by Eagles

Former NC State Safety Earl Wolff was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles today. Wolff finished last season on the injured reserve and had surgery after the season. When I talked to him this summer, he was hopeful that he would be 100% by the time camp started, but unfortunately Wolff was unable to play in the first preseason game on Sunday. After being in-and-out of practice recently, Wolff had surgery again yesterday. Apparently the Eagles weren’t willing to wait any longer on Wolff to get healthy.

Despite the circumstances, Wolff is keeping his head held high.

Wolff ranks 5th all-time in career tackles at NC State with 400, and his 8 career caused fumbles rank 3rd. After earning 1st Team All-ACC honors in 2012, Wolff was drafted in the 5th round with the 136th overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2013 NFL Draft.

We look forward to seeing where Wolff lands.  The NFL hasn’t seen the last of Earl Wolff.  The man plays too hard.
