August has been good to Carlos Rodon.

Last night the former NC State pitcher gave up 1 earned run over 7 innings, and struck out 8 batters in a no-decision against the Mariners.  Over his last 3 starts Rodon has pitched 3 consecutive quality starts, a 1.28 ERA, and 24 strikeouts in 24 innings.  He lowered his ERA .20 points last night, and has lowered it .78 points over that three-game span.  On August 11th, Rodon pitched 7 innings against the Angels, which was the longest he had pitched in a game all year.  Since then, he has pitched three straight games of 7+ innings.

Rodon’s August Numbers

2.36 ERA, .211 BA, 27 strikeouts/10 walks, 26.2 innings.

Rodon’s Season Numbers

4.22 ERA, .264 BA, 114 strikeouts/58 walks, 106.2 innings

The Rookie is finishing the season extra strong.  The White Sox were thinking about cutting his innings back, but it looks like they have no problem leaving him out there recently.
