NC State Offers Christian Brooks

2016 Defensive End Christian Brooks (6’5″/230) announced via Twitter today that he has received an offer from NC State.

Brooks is a 3-star recruit (247) out of Centreville High School in Clifton, Virginia.  He also holds offers from California, Miami, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Virginia, UCONN, and Nevada.  Brooks has unofficially visited UVA, VT, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, and Pitt.  He also camped at NC State, UNC, and Virginia Tech this summer.  All of the above offers have come since March 28th, when UVA offered Brooks.

His recruitment got off to a slow start after he had surgery on a herniated disc last season, that he suffered playing basketball. As a result, Brooks didn’t hit the field until October, and it took him a little while to get back to full steam.

In a recent article from the Washington Post, Brooks made it clear that distance is a factor for him.

“It’s going to have to be a school that my parents are able to visit or that I can get back to easily, if need be, because I was definitely missing home at times,” Brooks said. (Washington Post)

Take the time to read the whole entire Washington Post article on Brooks.  He seems like a really special young man.
