NC State Women’s Soccer Wins Home Opener

NC State Women’s soccer team won their home opener last night against Elon 2-0. Freshman Ella Bonner and RS Sophomore Alexa Allen scored the two goals. Five of Elons shots were on goal, but Wolfpack goalie RS Junior Mackenzie Stelljes posted her 5th shutout of her career. Stelljes currently is tied for second in the ACC in saves with 9 through 3 games.

NC State improved to 1-2 on the year. Last weekend the Wolfpack went 0-2 in the Torero Classic out in San Diego, but took #10 Pepperdine into overtime, losing in the 92nd minute 0-1.

Last season the Wolfpack only won two games all season, and was winless in conference play. They will look to tie the entire win total of 2014 this Sunday on the road against East Tennessee St. At 1pm.
